To be a Wingsuit flyer it does not require any special courses but it needs to be a certified skydiver. Skydiving is the first baby step which you have to take towards wingsuit flying training. For being a skydiver you need to be certified in Static Line course or AFF (Accelerated Free Fall course). An AFF course will start at an average of 1300$.
Where to have Wingsuit flying training
Skydive Space Center, Florida
Tandem Skydive: For First timers
You can experience the intoxicating free fall for nearly a minute at 120 M.P.H before the parachutes opens up and there after with a 4-6 minutes parachute ride.
AFF Training:
For wingsuit flying training it is a 4-5 days course with a 7 stage program. You will be provided with complete ground instructions followed by seven free fall training jumps.
Z-Hills in Florida
AFF Category A:
Here AFF course is combined with USPA’s Integrated Student Program to build sky diving skills. This category will cover your first jump with detailed ground training and free-fall skydiving. It also includes aircraft procedures, equipment, canopy control and landing.

AFF categories B-H:
Here, AFF, combined with USPA’s Integrated Student Program which allows you to set great skydiving skills and you can be a solo skydiver on your 9th jump of training. Skydiving A license can be achieved in 25 jumps with 2-3 jumps in each category. You can find the details of each category on the link given above.
You can avail the whole package from category A to H at a discounted rate of $2590 along with a Bronze 'A' license.
- You must be 18 years old to participate in AFF jumps.
- Maximum weight limit is 109 kgs (according to height) for AFF students.
AFF Skydive School at Skydive Switzerland
It is a eight level course with 5-6 hours of ground level training. Two instructors will be accompanying you till the 4th level, followed by 1 instructor there onward till 8th level. The whole course takes about a week to complete.

Skydive Swakopmund
Static line course:
It is the most effective way to learn skydiving where a students exits from a 3000 feet after getting hooked up with the static line at 1000 feet by the instructor. Students are taken at drop zones and briefed about the jump after learning how to fly and land with a parachute along with the working of equipment.
AFF course:
This is also a 8 step process with one to one instruction, learning basic canopy skills and body flight. Intensive ground training is provided with in-air supervision. It is approved by United States Parachute Association and by Parachute Association of Namibia.
Skydive Spain
AFF course:
Accelerated free fall is one to one basis training with a freefall from 15000 feet with two instructors. In-air training is provided by the instructors along with extensive training prior to every jump about free fall techniques and equipment used. The bronze course is having 7 levels with two instructors for 1-3 levels and 1 instructor for 4-7 levels.
AFF bronze: $1622 (including theory, goggles, logbook, level 1-7, manual and DVD)

For flying with a wingsuit you need minimum of 200 jumps. In wingsuit academy of Texas you will have detailed understanding of gear considerations, flight plan , ground practice and exit. If video is available you will also get a post flight debriefing to elevate your performance.
